Abstract
On the Problem of Empathy of Mood in Moritz Geiger’s Phenomenology
The aim of the paper is to analyse Geiger’s article On the Problem of Empathy of Mood. As a first step I give a description of Geiger’s phenomenological method. Then I present his phenomenological investigations of Gefühlscharaktere (e.g. “melancholy of a landscape”). In the next chapter I analyse different possible attitudes toward these characters, among them – an empathical one. In the last part of my article I point out some fundamental problems of Geiger’s theory.
